Is there a difference betwee the valve cover numbers

Valve cover 12310-PCX-020

and

Valve cover 12310-PCX-010

I know hondata said use PCX-020, and my source gave me PCX-010... will this be a problem?

if those are the AP2 VC's then yes there is a difference. There is a sensor difference i think that was made MY06+. One sensor got deleted or added. I just forgot what exactly changed.

The one they gave me looks like the 06+, Im going by the position of the PCV valve, and the number on the side of the box is PCX-010

MY04-05 have the same PCV valve location as the MY06+. I guess they (majestichonda) are using an AP1 VC for reference... Sorry I didn't catch that. I have MY04-05 and MY00-03 VC. The PCV valve is the only difference. So you can say MY04+ share the same PCV valve.

Is the sensor # 11 bung on the VC? If so it is a MY04-05 VC you have.

Ya mine has that bung on the side, so its an 04-05? So its an 06+ VC I need for the kpro?

Yes it seems you have an MY04-05 VC. Wow I'm so wetarded right now. I think I may have confused you since I pointed out # 11 but thats a screw... But I think you see the difference correct?

honestly I cannot say if you REALLY need the 020 VC. I would say you can use the 010 VC but it would have the sensor bung there. I would say you can cap off the sensor and you should be good.

According to hondata you don't use the intake cam sensor... Other than it being unsightly I think you can use the 010 VC. Unless of course the exhaust cam sensor is in a slightly different location...

SPECIFICALLY HONDATA says you have to get the -020 VC (MY06+) but maybe you can get away w/ pre MY06.

It looks like you retrofit the sensors to the exhaust cam. If the cam sensor is in the same location and has the correct bolt pattern I would say you could use the -010VC. But please double check w/ HONDATA on that.

Swapping the parts is relatively straight forward. Refer to the Helm manual for more information, but in brief you will need to:

Remove the accessory belt.
Remove the water pump pulley.
Remove the crank pulley.
Remove the front timing cover.
Remove and replace the crank timing wheel.
Remove and replace the crank sensor in the timing cover, and reinstall the timing cover.
Remove old wiring to crank sensor.
Install wiring harness from crank sensor to ECU.
Reinstall water pump pulley and accessory belt.
Remove the valve cover.
Remove and replace the TDC sensor wheel (exhaust cam).
Install the new TDC sensor and PCV valve in the new timing cover, and install the new valve cover.
Remove S2000 ECU. Install the wiring harness through the firewall underneath the clutch master cylinder. If you have cut the wiring rubber boot, seal it with silicone sealer.
Install the RSX ECU.
As a bonus your will find that your brand new valve cover is not dirty and has no oil stains.

I also read something about a cam sensor being a difference size, thus the reason for the 06+.... Guess Ill take this back, after all, I did give them the specific P/N off Hondatas website. I didnt notice this till I got home ><
