the only reason the valves are making that much noise is because the block has been built bottom and top end. When built by the shop that built I think that they may have put them on the loose end of the specs and since then there has been 5k on the engine and a lot of hard revs over 10k. The block will hold around 11k on the tach. Crazy sounding yes I know. But I have set my limiters in the ems at 10,100 max. Thanks for the help and the specs.

what parts are in there may i ask? ferrea? supertech? plz update us on this. and check and set your valves asap. taking a close look at every piece in there, 10k rpm is sweet, but you have to stay on top of these parts. if you expect them to live.
talk soon. dave

well, if thats the case, then you need to be on top of them anyways. you prob have trick valves, and retainers. at which point, a little more noise is to be expected.

best of luck to you with the ferrea's they are known to frisbey. stupid ferrea doesnt make an s2000 specific setup. they use all the same diameter springs, and then RE part # them. lame. so the vtec rocker hits the retainers, and will cause them to come off. the springs need to be smaller diameter, and the retainers need to have an arc thats sharper, with smaller diameter. supertech is the only setup i know that is as reliable as stock.
