Default Valve adjustment settings

So I thought I'd do a valve adjustment while the valve cover is off.

All my intake valves are steady at 0.008

The odd thing is all my exhaust valves seem to be at or below 0.008

Spec says 0.010

Should I mess with it or leave it alone?

The spec is a range.
If the setting you find is out of range, then .....

I also noticed valves becoming tighter than spec when I last did an adjustment. As I understand it, the valve seats wear more quickly than the valve stems or cam lobes, resulting in gaps closing instead of widening. This seems to vary from engine to engine, but seems to be the rule rather than the exception with the f20/f22.

yeah on these engines the valves actually get tighter over time, unlike the b-series motors. You should open the exhaust side up so it is in the spec range, that is important as they will get tighter over time and it affects the cool down rate of the valves. Being the exhaust valves it is really important to avoid burning. When I do my adjustments I set them at .008 intake and .010 exhaust which is the tighter end of the spec but I intend on chacking them every 2 years or less.

Adjusted to .008 intake and .010 exhaust.

Thanks everyone
