I did some investigating for you. that hole leads down to the pan..however, there is a shelf that is created by the block halves that could catch the nut and prevent it from getting to the pan.

Did you try a long thin teloscope magnet in that hole?

My guess is one nut is on this shelf, and the other is in the oil pump pickup.

Awesome, good to hear great feedback from those that have experienced the same problem as me. I definitely see the light at the end of the tunnel now and not feeling so overwhelmed. I really appreciate all your suggestions, will try that later on today and will report back. I also did order two lock nuts from the dealer as well just to be on the safe side, can you believe each nut is $3.00?? If I fix this myself it will be the best $6 bucks ever spent lol.

Yes, I bought a long telescope magnet and tried for a while poking around in all the drain holes I found in the cylinder head pushing it as far down as I could but still nothing. I guess if anything else I will try replacing the drain plug with a magnet one and finish the adjustment valve job, the two lock nuts were in back order at the dealer and will be arriving sometime today. From what I hear from others that have had the same problem, driving the car as is with the nuts trapped in the drain lines won't hurt the engine at all and the drain plug magnet will catch it eventually, hopefully.

Unless it goes into the timng chain or gets bound up somewhere else and destroys the engine.

Check in the pump pickup.

aaaaaaaaaa...don't use anything but a HONDA bolt. don't be ridiculous and cheap out...that rather expensive piece of hardware(your engine) deserves better than some chinese made crap nut.

Yes, I believe that they're $3. The 90451-PE2-000 washer is list price $5.28. It's just used on a bracket with near the bottom of the exhaust manifold. The bolt that goes through it is only $1.10!

Did you check the top of the windage tray like Bill mentioned ?, if it dropped down it would sit on the tray as it sits under the return hole. The tray is easily removed if you have the oil pan off, if you don't have the oil pan off then try the magnetic drain plug idea and do some short oil changes for the next while. I would think something like that would sit at the bottom of the pan once it falls off the windage tray, rather than circulate through the engine
