Valve adjustment issue
So I adjusted my valves today for the 2nd time since I got this S. I've had a strange intermittent rattle on cold starts until the engine is warm. I originally thought it was the belt tensioner pulley bearing, but upon take 2 with the steth I pinpointed it to the exhaust side valves on cylinder 2. So, I adjusted all valves to spec (.010 exhaust, .008 intake), taking over 2 hours to complete because I went OCD and checked/readjusted until all were on point. 3 were somehow a bit tighter than I remember twisting the last time I did a v-a. Previously, I had the valves adjusted 1/10th tighter (.009 and .007). The car seems to idle smoother now, but seems to have LOST power between 3-5k, and GAINED power in VTEC. It feels like it almost hesitates or like I'm on the e-brake from 3-5k for a second. VTEC is also more abrupt during engagement now. I have barely any more valvetrain noise than before, which pretty much subsided after the engine warmed to full temp the 2nd time. No pronounced ticking. No smoke of any kind, even on 1st startup after adjustment. Also, fuel economy seems to have improved in the 22 miles I've driven trying to put my finger on this. Is there an issue with my specs? This makes no sense. Someone PLEASE fill me in on this if possible, I'm kind of confused... Thx all.

Issue resolved. I re-adjusted them last night, no issues now. Back to 1/10th tighter than spec. If it burns the valves, f!$# it. It has way more mid range power this way.
