I'm assuming you've seen this?
In those 6 months, how much do you drive?

I finished doing my valve adjustment today. Took me a while because I went and double checked each valve. I set the exhaust valves to .011.

as always, valve adjustments remedies all my symptoms and am enjoying the true power of the f22 and no bogging. but its going to last me another 6 months or so lol.

I wonder if the valve faces or seats are worn? Sometimes, it's hard to set a good clearance in worn valves. I don't know if the S2000 has this problem, as I never heard of it in these cars.

Compression & leak-down test maybe a nice starting place.

On the subject of valve adjustments, has anyone put together a list for the Honda P/N's for the gasketry recommended for this procedure?

Cylinder Head Cover Gasket
Cylinder Head Cover Bolt Rubber Seals (5)
Spark Plug Hole Rubber Seals (4)

Would they be the same regardless of model year?

Yes all those things are exactly the same, and in my experience I've only had to change spark plug tube seals once, and that's because the previous person that replaced the valve cover just tightened the gasket without pushing the seals over the tubes.

Thanks, SC. I purchased them through partsgeek.com using P/N W0133-1714598, which gives you every gasket related to the valve cover.

Is your car running the stock tune? That Billman thread that was linked, talks about dbw cars running leaner, which results in more heat, valves out of spec sooner.

Maybe you have a worse than normal version of this issue. A non-stock tune, or some mod or even some issue that causes it to run even leaner than normal dbw should.

Or maybe something else that makes cylinders run hotter. Hotter than stock plugs?

Would you happen to know if you have Supertech dual valve springs? A couple S2000s that I know, including myself have had to redo valve adjustments a few times due to valve lash getting too tight. All of us had just recently got our heads built with Supertech parts. Son also did mine initially, and I re-did the lash a little looser than factory specs. The problem hasn't reoccured after about 5 track events. I had the same symptoms as you, except my car would die, and I believe my valves were constantly open the whole time. I could not get the thinnest feeler guage in.
