Using Low Miles Ap2 Pressure Plate on Ap1 ?
A while back I picked up a used ap2 pressure plate and clutch disc with the intentions of using it on my MY02 ap1 someime down the road when my clutch wears out. I was told the pressure plate and disc had 12k miles on it, judging by the clutch disc it had very little wear so it could likely be a low mileage unit as described to me. I don't see any defects or hot spots on the pressure plate and no heavy wear on the disc. . I'm not going to use the disc though as I have a brand new Honda disc.
I need to decide if I should use the ap2 pressure plate on my ap1 when it comes time to replace the clutch. The current clutch is still running fine, but I want to make sure I have replacement parts when it comes time to do it. My other option would be to pick up a new aftermarket pp , like Exedy or something like that. My ap1 pp has 60k miles on it now, I don't think I'd re-use it when it comes time to replace the clutch, and you can't buy ap1 pp's anymore from Honda as far as I've been told. Should I run the lightly used ap2 pp on my car ?.
My car is a street driven garage queen for the most part, maybe 5k miles a year max, no real track or auto-x use expected. I should state that cost is not a consideration in this decision, if I'm better off using an aftermarket pp or a brand new Honda pp I'm quite happy to shell out the dough and get rid of my used parts. Thanks for any advice replies on this, and thanks for reading.

This is just a guess- AP1/2pp's are identical (at least in application). If it bolts to the flywheel there can't be too much difference. The fact the the AP1 pp stock# is no longer available would seem to confirm this.

They are a direct fitment, but the ap1's were reported as having a higher clamping force and were a bit stiffer to the leg. Anyone ordering an S2K pp now gets the ap2 version with a slightly softer clamping force, which doesn't bother me either way.
