Upper Radiator Hose Removal
Hi everyone,
Success:
I have a quick question, i was able to disconnect the lower radiator hose to replace the thermostat. I was then able to remove the radiator from the car to put the new one on.
Failure:
I am having a problem with the upper hose, I am able to get my hand in there and feel the clamp, but i'm not able to get a took in there and have enough torque to actually open it. By any chance does anyone have an idea on how i can accomplish this task?
Thanks,

I thought of that, but my problem would be how difficult is that, is there a seal that goes around the intake, I personally don't want to make the job alot hard than it is

pull away as many vacuum hoses and wiring and cables that are around the side of the intake manifold , the more you move and pull loose the easier it is to access the hose clamp. The hose clamp is near the firewall so move everything that is closer to the back end of the manifold. Once you get things moved out of the way it is much easier to access the hose. You need something like a vice grip that can clamp onto the hose clamp and not come loose, then you can just wiggle it towards you and off the point where the hose mounts to the housing. After that it takes some good twisting and pulling to get the old hose off the housing. Reinstall in reverse. If you try to use a set of pliers you have to squeeze and pull at the same time and it tends to slip off the clamp, whereas if you can use a locking device like vice grips they will clamp down and you just need to concentrate on sliding it off the mounting point. Much easier that way.

I used a razor knife to slice the top of the hose at the fitting, and picks and long nose pliers to peel it free. The "sticktion" is hard to break if you can't twist the hose with pliers. It's a pain, but I managed to do it all from the top. You may be able to get a better angle from under the car, but that depends on how your reach is.

Thanks everyone!!
I finally got it out, basically i found out that when i put my head behind the firewall looking at the intake manifold i was able to see the hose clamp. I basically then put a bent needle nose pliers in the area and was able to pinch the clamp. BTW in order for me to get this point of view i had the hood removed for painting. THANKS!!!!
