It makes a great daily driver if you can get the octane. The engine sounds like it is on the ragged edge but it is easier to drive than the factory ecu with much more torque. I recommend the Mugen ECU for daily driving if you can get the octane. You must make arrangements for security because the immobilizer is immobilized and unable to immobilize. (Did I say that?)

I got mine from Scott at King Motorsports. The prices are on their web site. The smaller pieces aren't expensive but the ECU is $1500. They recommend adding the Mugen thermostat, fan switch and radiator cap. One of the few benefits of living in Maryland is that 94 octane is common here and many Sunoco stations have their pump "Race Gas" at 110 octane and $3.59 per gallon.

Spugen Dual SS Titanium Tip exhaust sounds so nice man. Great price and their service is #1. You will have no problems with Spugen what so ever. Great company. As for intake's, I like the one piece Injen cold air setup but I hear they dont make it anymore. Second would be the AEM with Bypass. Air intake and exhaust are worth the money if you dont plan on turbocharging or supercharging. If you do plan on it drop the intake and just get a nice exhaust. Good luck with your car. Hope you enjoy it.

So far, from what I'm hearing it seems like I should buy an exhaust and then save for awhile and just got to Forced induction in a year or two (when I can afford the 4 grand+ it will take to do that!)

The Veilside TearDrop exhaust is super light it only weighs 5.3 lbs and is constructed entirley of titanium, looks awsome, and it also has a very deep exhaust note to it. I also recommend the AEM cai it is one of the best intakes on the market for the S2000.

Being the proud owner of a Mugen exhaust myself and having friends with other exhausts, I have to say the power gains are minimal at best. The better part of an aftermarket exhaust is the sound. You'll save a few pounds which is nice, but don't expect to be impressed with the performance. Probably everyone wants an S2000 unique to him/her self and that's the rationale for the variety of aftermarket parts. Enjoy bolt on parts for the individualist enjoyment, but speaking as one who has spent enough to put a custom turbo on my car, it's just not worth it. Honda got it just about perfect out of the box.

what kind of gains are we talking about with the spugen exhaust? your input is much appreciated!

9906- read your sig. about finding someone to tune. have you looked into curry's? depending on where you are (about 40 min from college park, i guess), you should check them out. I've only been there once, but it seems everyone likes the guys there and their guys are very knowledgeable. might want to check em out.
