I had planned to leave it in there for another month, but decided to drain it while I had it jacked up for a brake bleed in preparation for new pads. I don't think I'll ever leave engine oil in service for longer than a year though. I still have a warranty for this car (100K miles).

I'm pretty convinced that installing new OEM type O2 sensors helped with my fuel dilution issues too.

Thanks for sharing the info indymac. I have one question for you regarding castrol edge w/ titanium.. I purchased a case from amazon initially, and got a 2nd case, but the 2nd one doesn't mention titanium anywhere on it.. Here's a link to the listing on amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Castrol-06241-...dp/B007GKRBCC/

Did they change the labeling on the bottle to not say titanium or is it in fact a different oil? It seems like the Castrol FST isn't that easy to find..

Edit:

Hmm if you look closely at the label it says in smaller print "with titanium FST." I'll look at the bottles next time I get a chance, but maybe they just changed the bottles/labeling? I found this a bit ago and it's significantly cheaper at walmart:

Speaking about your change to "new OEM type O2 sensors" can you tell me more about these?

I think you'll be OK.

They were DENSO's that I bought online from one of the auto parts places (Rockauto.com). They are specifically for the 2004 AP2 F22C1. I don't remember what the part numbers were though. #2 is much more expensive than #1 though.

Is your scanner indicating lazy sensors and are you seeing your fuel dilution climbing? Worth a try!

Thanks Joey. I refilled with same that I bought for $3/qt at O'Reilly's. Sorry to hear that you couldn't purchase it anymore up north. How do you like the magical Redline elixir? Please do some UOA's/VOA's with it!

OMG!.. your titanium ppm is off the scale...
Oh, wait....

Your post made me check the last time I changed oil.
And that was ... a while ago.
Still under 30k km though so no worries with the SSO in the sump.

My aftermarket warranty company would love to hear me say that (with claim denial in mind).

Last UOA (Shell Helix 0W-30) I did was not cheap, like 120 Euro, that's like... $5000 or so...
I'm tempted though.
Then again, all of the UOA's I've seen of SSO were good, no reason to assume it's not good now.
That said: measuring = knowing.
