Still waiting on my reference sample test results. The lab said the TAN came in too high, so they were re-running the test. Maybe the reddish purple dye makes this test difficult.

OK, I think we have a winner. Of the five samples I sent to the Houston lab last week, this one appears to be the only report with no obvious errors. I must have gotten the rookie Tech on the others! The first sample line is the reference sample of 1605, and the second sample line is the used oil:

^ Good lord, your diff is experiencing almost no wear Jack. 16 ppm of iron (17-1) in 7,100 miles is crazy low. Those are amazing numbers.

LE1605 continues to impress me beyond anything I would have expected. Amazing report

it was actually 666ppm with 4300 miles.
You saw it already.....in this thread
https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/107...iff-and-trans/

i actually feel better now, I was thinking less than 20ppm iron was average but its actually 388ppm so I feel better about mine now, and am jealous of your 16ppm.

I do remember it now. Try to stay the course and keep us posted on how the wear trend is going. Was this the OEM LSD? Mine shed some nickel and iron for awhile too. Titanium? I don't think so, but I'll check.

Good luck!
