I don't know you mean by first sentence and I am not original owner. I bought it two weeks ago as you can see in the first post.
Is there some part that rotates and speed of it depends on RPM?
Because I think the noise is more intense as the rpm goes up. Later you can't hear the rattle due to sound of engine. Maybe it can be some bowden that is rusted and do the sound?

Did this ever got figured out? I have exactly the same rattle. I haven't found the reason yet.
Any ideas?
Also some snap is coming from somewhere when driving hard corners on track, what could that be? Engine mounts?

+1 on op description being a lost oil cap. They can come loose, and fall down to top of trans, and the rattle of it banging around can sound like its behind/under the dash. Search for threads on how to find the cap. A PO could have lost the cap, and bought a new one.
Another thought, a recent thread on a guy that bought S from an Acura dealer, and it had a bad rattle, so he made them fix it before buying. Acura sent it to Honda dealer, who supposedly took whole dash apart and tightened some 'plate' at the back that was loose.
