I've searched through the exisiting threads regrarding misaligned tops, and cant believe that no one encountered the situation where only one side of the top is misaligned.
Here is what is going on with my top:
Model : 2001 S2000.
I decided to let my nephew sit in my car and act like he's driving on his 3rd birthday. His excitement wore off quickly after sitting in the car for a few minutes, so for the finale his father suggested to put the top down. In doing so , my nephew wanted to see it retract and close several times.* I never fully closed the top with the strikers during this demonstration. After putting down the top and up several times (3 times), the top would not seal.
I have not had problems with the top sealing in the past when using the strikers. So as of now, the driver side has a visible gap while the passenger side doesn't after I close the top with the strikers.
Any advice would help.
Thanks

If the top is fully closed and latched, and you have wind noise, most will suggest replacing the strikers. Also, since you have a 2001, you have the "old" strikers, the newer ones are for hardtops as well and more robust. That should fix your wind noise because the top will fit tighter.
As for a misalignment, no idea. But would think maybe there are teeth in the motor and one side skipped a tooth. Just a guess tho, I have no idea how the motor looks like on the inside.

I have a similar situation. The right side of my top doesnt quite close as tight as the left side. Although mine has been in an accident, so it is more than likely my frame was bent in the process. But it would be interesting to see other people's thoughts on the matter and how it could be mended. I read up on the adjustable catchers but havent tried it out yet.

i just put on clear tubing on my latches,(the hook part) and the top is way quieter and cost was .30 cents for a foot long peace.only used 2 inches.give that a try, cheaper then replacing the strikers.lowes has it.
