Clean your terminals up then and put a little grease on them to make sure they have a good connection and it shouldnt happen again

Sounds like a dead battery. sometimes if you keep it off for a while it can start up the car after a few tries. get a voltmeter (its like 15 bucks). Check to make sure battery reads 12.5v running and it holds a volt above 13 when it its been idle for 1/2 day to a few days.

A dead battery will have like <11 volts when sitting around for a while.

Even with a dead battery you'll get lights and radio.

Start up issues have returned. Drove the car multiple times since then. This morning same issues started again. Here is a video clip.

You can see when I hit the start button the radio, the DRL and the circulate lights turn off. Still need to get a multimeter hooked up to the battery, but this is not typically what I'd expect from a car with a dying battery. The lights don't dim or flicker, all electronics work, but the starter doesn't even try to crank over.

Jump the car let it run for a minute and remove the negative terminal off the battery. If the car continues to run it's your battery, if it stumbles and dies it's the alternator. There is a possibility it's the starter but I doubt it. A dying battery can still run electronics but not have enough juice to turn over a starter. I'm almost positive your issue is the battery. Take it by Autozone, they test them for free.

Thanks for the tip s2klariat. I'll do that this evening.

Not a battery issue at all. So the car acts this way every time I let it sit for a long duration. I have to push down on the shifter pretty hard almost like jamming it until it hits the transmission tunnel before it starts. Is there a faulty switch either associated with the shifter or on the tranny that could cause this startup issue?
