The TPS is originally riveted and non-adjustable. Has your TPS been drilled and bolted so it is adjustable?

I have seen first hand idle issues as a result of the tps being off 2%.

Thanks for the reply Billman250,

I am not in anyway knowledgeable about where the more technical things are.. I am fairly confident that it hasnt been drilled/bolted, i will see if i can find a pic of what i am looking for and go check!

Weird question but i feel it may be relevent.. is it possible to adjust the TPS without it being drilled? with software maybe?

Cheers

This is a long shot, but did you have your alternator checked? Is it possible these are signs of the alternator going bad? You mentioned a dimming of the dash, which is why I am mentioning this.

If your alternator is not working properly and you add electrical load (ie A/C, stereo, headlights, etc.) it will draw power from the injectors causing them to run at 11-13 volts. The ECU should compensate for this, by making the injectors staying open longer. Thus allowing more fuel to be dumped in. The power should be restored to normal operation of 14 volts rather quickly.

Is it possible the alternator is failing causing the injectors to stay open too long, thus flooding the engine causing a stall?

I stand corrected Billman, you sir are a wizard!

It would appear to have bolts on! below is a pic of the top bolt. Appears non standard to me..

How would i go around fixing this?

Thanks

Hi Geebs,

Just do one thing at a time. Adjust the TPS first to see if that resolves the problem.

Oki,

Noob question but I am not overly sure how to adjust the tps?

Any pointers would be hugely appreciated! I should have time over the weekend to give it a good go!

Cheers
