Heating the knob with a hair dryer will cause the knob to thermally expand, making it easier to come off. It won't affect the loctite much, but every bit helps.
You want to keep the shaft cool so it doesn't thermally expand as much. The thermal expansion rate of aluminum is around twice that of steel so even if you heated them both up, it will come off easier.
