I thought most 4-bangers were a little shaky when they shut off. Just a side effect of the inline design.

when I first got the S-it always freaked me out.

yeah, have this on my 06, really diesels if i turn off the engine when its still cold.

It's totally in my head, but when I turn it off slower I feel like I'm easing it into shutting down and it seems smoother.

I know, I know, ridiculous statement since there's only spark or no spark, no halfway

Also, when you hit the start button, you have a really quick shudder or so it seems - like the shifter vibrates a whole lot and then it idles smoothly.

Would one of those engine dampners (spoon, J's, NRG) help with reducing this?

good question, can someone that has a damper reply to this? i would imagine it would affect it.

lol I would be interested in hearing how you "turn it off slower", lol

the ignition is an on/off switch, not a potentiometer, lol
