Default Turbocharged S2000 misfiring on topend power?

Got this turbo kit for 2 weeks now but still can't figur it out why it's misfiring sometime on topend (7k-9k rpm range). It's making some ticking clicking noise when boosting at high rpm (my tech said that it's sound from the misfiring). The lowend power are awesome!! The topend power that I got is similar to a N/A S2000 or just a little better ( I thought it would be a big big different on topend as well). I still haven't dyno it yet.......maybe I already got lots more power but I just don't feel it on the topend??

Somebody recommand me to use the MSD DIS 4...... would that cure the misfiring problem? or are there anything that I could do to make that noise to go away?? Please help......

I'm guessing you're using the stock ignition setup for now? If so what heatrange sparkplugs are you running, and more importantly what gap? On my turbocharged crx (I know; different application, but it's the same theory) I run a plug-gap about 25% narrower than stock. If you havn't already you might want to try closing the gap a little. If it's already narrow, maybe try bringing it down slightly more and see if that does the trick. Oh, what fuel management method are you using?

Good luck,

I already changed those spark plugs to NGK plugs for turbocharged and supercharged use. I gapped them to 0.023..........and I'm using Greddy E-manage system for fuel management.

...... you sure you didn't hurt something when you were over boosting (was the wastegate not hooked up right or something?)
Should give it the quick compression check just to see.

get an WB O2 sensor on that thing ........ that noise you're hearing might be detonation

I would recommend taking it to a dyno. As you know I am having a similar problem, power spikes up high. I am running on the rich side, A/F at 12, but in VTEC my A/F dips to the 11.5~12 range. I am heading back to Speedcraft to get them to retune my car sometime in the next two weeks. I no longer have the misfiring problems, but VTEC is not smooth. I will keep you posted as to how they treat the problem.

I have discussed it with several mechanics and have been told that it could be an ignition problem or something with the fuel pressure regulator. I don't know how reliable that diagnosis is.

A quick side question for anyone. If my A/F ratios are 12 and under is it possible that I could still have detonation?

no offense but you need to figure out your problem asap. sounds like your air/fuel ratios might be F'ed up at the top end. Which as some alluded to can cause detonation. Unless you want to buy a new engine, I suggest getting an air/fuel reading on a dyno and/or getting a wideband sensor to do some tuning.
