Default Which Turbo to use?

Currently, I have the COMPTECH S/C. I'm very much considering switching to a turbo.
My motor is being rebuilt with oversized sleeves and pistons with a compression
ratio of 10:1.

How much boost could this configuration handle? 10:1 with tuning the timing.
And, which type of turbo would spool the fastest to that boost?

Does anyone have any ideas?

I would talk to CJB...he's got a good setup in development. Should be interesting.

Are you looking for quick spool or high output? What kind of power do you want to put out?

I honestly would love to see someone put a GT35/40 on. They're huge, but they spool FAST.

GT 30/35, haha, I wonder if we'll be seeing someone use one of those soon....hmmm, i cant think of anyone off my head, . I'll be using a GT30 (as soon as I can afford the rest of the kit, arrg ) which I hear spools up very fast. oh and yes, PM cjb80, his kit is pretty amazing looking, hell, I'm in the process (albeit slow) of buying and piecing it together.

I just tuned a Supercharged S2000 vs a Turbo T3/T4 S2000 with a built motor, and there is a 100 hp difference at 4000 rpm!!! (favoring the turbo ) The turbo made 24x ft lbs of torque and the supercharger made 170 ft lbs....

How much would it cost to add a turbo charger w/ parts and installation?

I say if you have teh money, go with a HKS 3037S. You have to remmeber to tell yourself, that while boost pressure plays a signifcant role in picking a turbo, your main concern should be with the volumetric effeicency of a turbo. two turbos will flow completly different volumes of air at the same pessure. a turbo like a HKS 3037S will outflow most other turbos in the 9-16 psi range. ( while the hks will not flow as well as some turbos at other pressure ranges) picking a compression ratio for your engine should be matched to the effiecency of your turbo. you can make more power at lower psi with a turbo that's more efficent, then with a turbo that's pumping out more psi and less effiecnet at that psi. so it's good to know what type of turbo your going to be using before picking a compression ratio. and anyone who tells you that 8:1 or 8.5:1 is ideal for a turbo motor, is living in the 80's.
