Turbo or Supercharger? Which one is better?
What is up? I am a n00b to this forum and would like to ask a question.
My dad owns a 2001 S2k. The only mod he has is a Injen cold air intake that we bought him for his birthday.
He has been doing some research on the Comptec and Vortec Supercharger kit and wants to know if he should by a supercharger.
I told him that if he wants the maxim HP he should go turbo.
Here are my questions:
Which one is better for the S2k turbo or supercharger?
What 1/4 times will you get with turbo or supercharger?
How many WHP does the S2k get from the Comptec or Vortec supercharger?
I have done some research on the turbo and found this:
http://www.ultimate-racing.com/Prod...KTurboKit.shtml
I was very impress with this setup...
Any help is much appreciated!!!!!
Thanks.

You may find you dont get many replies to your question, the reason being is its been asked here litteraly hundereds of times!!!!
You would honestly be better off trying the search engine as there are loads of threads relating to this argument, I know because I've asked the very same question ages ago and there isn't a straight forward answer, its all down to preference & situation and of course money

I'll field this one:
Better for the car? I'd say a supercharger. Percentage of time spent in boost is less during daily driving. Less strain on the engine. Less intrusive engine management.
Most power? Youre right, turbo.
1/4 mile? Faster than stock, but it depends one how good a driver you are. The powerband remains peaky with a supercharger.
Both comptech and vortech put the s2k around 290-300rwhp. There are exceptions.

The vibration sent to the motor is outrageous.

Interesting, Harry.
My old sho had a blower on it, and I never experienced any vibration. Youre right, the blower DOES vibrate the hell out of a lot of stuff. When I come to a stop sometimes, I can hear my hood prop rattling around!
Maybe its the setup? Do the vortechs do it as well?

hecash thanks for pointing that out. a couple months ago i mentioned that id rather go turbo since a supercharger tends to cause lots of vibrations, but people dismissed that statement as BS. im glad someone with real experience agrees.

Turbo on a S2000?
Read this, it is a bit long but could help you.
I would reccomend you a SC, it is 90% plug and play y and cheaper and you can get crazy numbers
360 WHP and 315 WHP with stock internals
Here you can found some of the potential of a SC.
