There's a whole lot more to a car than just the peak hp.

larry has a point about when not under acceleration the turbo may be easier since it is just idling along.... but the flip side is when i am cruising at highway speeds with my SC i am pushing less than 2 lbs of boost up to about 4900 rpm. when he steps on the gas, he is getting his 7, 8, or whatever he caps boost level to, at a lower rpm than we are.
on a long term basis, we may put more stress since it is always there, but i have not blown (and i do not mean FI) my engine.... yet....
and as for pete's comment... when we did curry's shootout there were many people commenting on how float our torque output was in relation to other cars. they were all over the place jumping up and down throughout the entire RPM range. i will take smooth and steady (predicatable) power any day.

Speaking of aggrivated powerbands... remember the chart from the supra? ROFL That thing looked like a picture of the Grand canyon... The SC's are about as smooth as you're gonna get. That's from real world experience, not theory. I think between Keith, Yellow Streak and myself we have seen more S2000s on the dyno than pretty much anyone (cept maybe UL ).

Just thought I would jump in here for a sec to say that when I am on the freeway (or any road fro that matter), my boost guage always shows vaccum never boost unless I gun it. I can make it all the way to work (15 miles, 1/2 on the freeway) and never use one psi of boost. The BOV releases it all until I need it.
