tuning vafc
after 2 frustrating hrs, i finally installed the VAFC. installation was a bitch and instruction manual wasn't helpful either, but thankfully i found the right diagram for the ecu by searching through this website, after that it was pretty easy. But after installing the VAFC i am anxious to tune it up, my buddy told me it would be ok to use some of the settings posted by other members throughout this forum. After reading through some of the thread i notice some members saying that it isn't a good idea to use another persons setting, so my question is should i seek professional help, or is it possible to do it myself?

You definitely want help if you don't know exactly what you are doing. Leaning out your fuel too much, accidentally or otherwise, can create a dangerous situation in which your engine will go bye bye. Any damage you might cause with the VAFC will not be covered under warranty, and that kind of repair/replacement will cost upwards of 5 large.

Every car, especially when modded, requires different settings. I highly recommend you find a dyno shop with a wideband O2 sensor system for tuning. It shouldn't be more than about $150 to tune a VAFC (that's what I charge).
I'm in Torrance, which is a little far from Diamond Bar. But if you can't find anyone closer, look me up. I've tuned several dozen VAFC's on S2000s.
