My last MTF replacement (Amsoil) was 11/14/18 at 73,146. I had just begun to notice a couple random pop-outs. My tech said there could be traces of the old MTF in there. After that, I never had any more pop-outs, but as a prophylaxis, I had him replace the detent springs for 1-2 shift fork and 1-2 shift piece on 12/27/19 at 78,987. We did not do another MTF replacement at that time. I cannot, then, attest positively to the effect of the detent spring replacement, but I can say that I have now gone far longer without a pop-out than I ever did before--29 months.
