TSB 054 - Clutch buzzing decelerating noise
Hi
I need help trying to convince Honda Australia to fix
my clutch.
So has TSB 054 actually rectified the
clutch buzzing noise or has the noise returned.
Honda Australia don't recognise this service bulletin
and reckon that the Australian drivetrains are different
to the US market ??????? don't they go down the middle?????
Thanks for your help
Arthur

Sorry, I don't know a lot about this, but I can say my car at 27k miles makes a lot of buzzing under deceleration even though the previous owner had the clutch replaced under the TSB at about 16-17k miles.

SSK - There have been 2 clutch disks designs used in TSB 054. Depending on when your car was repaired, it might have the first design that has since been improved a bit. If so, you probably have more leverage for having the repair done again.
Keep in mind that the repair makes a big difference at first, but even the latest clutch disk design will start to buzz after a while. I just had it done on my car at 34k miles and it was a HUGE improvement, but I expect some noise to return over time.

When having the clutch TSB done, make sure that the clutch has 055 for the last part numbers. The latest clutch disc has one large spring instead of the older disc's 2 spring setup. The 2 spring design seems to get spring fatigue that causes the springs to rattle over time.

Thanks Fsures
So basically Honda has no permanent solution to this
problem, but the 055 clutch plate (latest) can be considered
as a short to medium term solution.

Thanks Bob
BUT for me to get the clutch done, I would literally have to ship my car to the US cause TSB054 is not accepted in Australia. Something about our drivetrains being different?????????hard to believe?????? It seems that US S2K owners are lucky to have good customer service.
