Well, it looks like the dealer is going to have to get them off. Wonder how many arms-n-legs that'll take.

Not only did IO break the 3/4 to 1/2 adapter, I broke the 1/2" breaker bar by using the jack handle for leverage. And the nuts STILL didn't budge.

I don't know how the hell they can be loose if I can't get them to even budge. Even penetrating oil and the impact wrench wouldn't work.

A pneumatic impact wrench is significantly stronger than a electric... A decent breaker bar won't break, and if it's a name brand one replacing it wont be a problem.

What I've found useful in those situations is to use apply torque in a quick, but strong force rather than a gradual torque. Pretty much the same way an impact wrench works....

on civics we would take the center cap off put the wheel back on drop the car back on the ground get a breaker bar with a socket and a big ass pipe for more levarage

good luck on getting them off. I ended up breaking them off of one of my cars before, but It had been setting for a few years, so that should not be the case for you. I use a 1 foot breaker bar, with a big car jack handle on it, when the impact seems to fail to do the job.

like the other day I was trying to remove the harmonic balancer off my motor after I had taken it out of the car, I ended up strapping the block down to my work bench and using the break over bar method i described above, cause my impact was just not doing the job

Well, I'm not sure what to do. I got an pneumatic impact wrench and it still won't break the nuts loose. My last idea is to take a reciprocating saw and cut off the entire part that the factory bends down over the groove in the shaft. Then break those parts off then loosen the nuts. If that doesn't work I don't know what to do. Maybe I'll leave it and if the wheel comes of, then it comes off. I'm sick of this shit.

lol. When I did it I had my friend stand on the end of a 5' pipe while i held the socket on with leg pressure. He bounced a few times it lurched free. If that doesn't work I recommend finding a fatter friend. We did this with the wheel in place and center cap removed for saftey's sake. Watch out bc when it does go it will go quick.

My rant: The real PITA are the screws that hold the brake discs to the hubs. They rust in so tight the only way to remove them are by drilling them out. I broke 4 phillips bits with my impact gun trying to remove those puppies this weekend.

PB and a big bar have taken care of every nut, including the crank. I hate those damn screws, just use antisieze Honda.

So after banging my head against the wall I called the dealer and was able to get them to do it today. You won't believe the cost, a whopping $55.28 inc. the nuts and tax.

F**king hell! If I had known it would be that cheap I wouldn't have fought and fought for hours on end, cussing all the way, and wasting time that could have been better spent enjoying the outdoors. $55.28 is a good deal to keep what little sanity I have left.
