Having recently broken my rear end gear pinion, I am interested in maximum differential oil protection. The failure cause was due to the pinion gear failing due to fatigue after more than 36000 miles. I ran the Mobil synthetic 75/90 starting at about 13000 miles. I am most interested in an oil that will lower friction as my experience was that the differential got stinking hot after highway driving. Does this LE 607 oil have any qualities that will minimize fatigue failure from 1st gear to 2nd shifts or thermal stress from friction?

Thanks,
Randy

Just an introduction to all of you. My name is Chris Nowlen. I work for Lubrication Engineers. I have had the pleasure of meeting some of you already.

How does the LE 703 compare? I think there are some "concerns" regarding cold temps on the 607. The 703 is an 80W90 and contains MONOLEC as well. Would that be a good alternative for those in colder climates?

Yes I am - I was just curious. And actually I think RR has another point... 607 is the only one you can get in quarts vs 55 gallon drums.
