Trunk Won't Open with FOB or inside button
#11
Yes sir, well, I reposted the post on every forum link that popped up when I googled the problem. I figured I can't be the only guy having to use a key to open the trunk hahhahaaha...and wanted to make it easier for everyone to see with pictures
It was easy...
I'd say, remove entire left side trunk liner, and specifically unclip the white and closest brown tiewraps that are clipped into body and trunk hinge...the bigger tie wrap that isn't clipped to anything can be slid down and then back later...then, just unwrap the black electrical tape and you'll see exactly all the wires that need the slack and where it's broken. Not too hard.

Thank you for this post. I eventually fixed mine today after ignoring it after 3 years. I followed exactly the instructions above. Took me about 1.5 hrs in total after finding the snapped wires. All four wires were cleanly cut. The most fiddly part was trying to solder the wires with one hand.
Again cheers.
Again cheers.

I did not have this problem (yet??) but was aware of the posts on it. It made me look for a similar fix when my MDX rear camera gave out. I looked for broken wires in the equivalent location and found the same fix/issue!
