Default Trunk Spring Removal

Just installed my CF Trunk. Everything great, except....

The springs that push the trunk up are too powerful, what is the easiest way to take them off? They are on their tight and have so much tension!

Any tips and tricks?

Honda sells a tool for pretty cheap, I'd recommend you look into that, or ask locally if anyone has the tool. Makes install and removal easy and safe.

i have a trunk spring removal tool...

i've also done it w/ a pair of needle nose vise grips on a civic trunk (sounds like a bad idea but it'll make sense if you try it). probably a good idea to put on a face shield if you don't know what you're doing.

Yup ended up going to Honda and getting one removed. Perfect.

Glad I didn't try to force it out.
