Compressor cut-off is strictly rpm-related, cutting off at 7700 and back on at 7400. Makes no difference if you are at WOT or not, same results.
At least that's what it does in my MY'00.
I ran the AC full-time when I was at Road Atlanta 2 years ago. It was hot as Hades and I wasn't out to impress anybody, just having a good time and passing a few Corvettes, Mustangs, Bimmers, etc. in the process.
If you want a compressor cut-out for performance reasons it would be pretty easy to install a relay on the VTEC solenoid wire to disconnect the compressor clutch. No, I won't make you one.
