is it true that its not Recommended to turn on the A/C in high RPM.
guys,
i use to turn ON my A/C in 4K or 5k RPM,a friend told me that its not good to do this, becuse it will harm the Compressor.
any advice plzz

Modifry posted that he determined the compressor disengages someplace around 7500 RPM (don't remember exactly) and won't re-engage until a somewhat lower level...

Yes, I've noticed on both my Civic and my S2000 the A/C will shut off if the rpm is too high. I have 6.5 years and 105k miles on the Civic, and the A/C is fine.

ps. I have 'friends' tell me I shouldn't rev the thing so high. They don't get invited to sit next to me in the car again. (:

I am pretty sure all cars these days dump the A/C at WOT - it would make sense for Honda to limit or stop A/C below WOT but still way high in the RPM range. I guess I would ask why you would want A/C on under those circumstances? Or are you hypothesizing in case you are cruising, then decide some Civic needs a lesson? But A/C compressors are not cheap, and in my case,. when i am going to get on the car hard, the A/C goes off and stays off.
