I usually drive my car every fortnight and first start up has a slight bit of hesitatin. Ever since using a freak trickle charger it fires up a lot quicker and stronger! I also bought the extension lead from creek since my battery is opposite side of the wall where the charger sits. Hooked up via battery terminals and just one plug each time. Can close bonnet and arm the car too

As far as helpful info goes...Battery Tender Jr's are like $30.

I leave mine just plugged in all winter. I leave the battery connected to the car.

Not sure if I'm doing it wrong. But it sure is convenient.

I certainly don't want to start the car every month....because that's definitely the wrong thing to do.

My first CTEK was a MUS 3300 and it works very well. When i decided to add a second one, the MUS 4.3 had just come out and I bought one of those.

The 4.3 has a “recondition” mode as well as a few other “steps”in the charge process—-well worth the $7-10 extra cost over the 3300. The 4.3 runs about $63 on Amazon right now. I don't have any experience with the CTEK 7002 but the 3300 and the 4.3 are their most populat sellers.

Both chargers (and I think most if not all CTEK chargers) switch from “float” to “pulse” charging after 10 days when you leave it on for an extended period.

I use both all winter to keep batteries charged for 2 boats, 2 Waverunners and the S2000. They have no problems recharging a dead battery back and keep “good” batteries topped off.

CTEKs are a bit pricey compared to some other brands but given the cost of a new car or boat battery, I felt paying $60 for a charger as good as the CTEK to keep them all topped up was worth every penny—given the way they’re built and the CTEK reputation, I have no doubt they’ll last me the rest of my life.

This is what I do with my Battery Tender Plus. No issues for 6 plus years.
