Billman, if you were in South Florida I'd make you a rich man. Unfortunitly, your a little far away =)
I tried re-tapping it but for the life of me could not find a tap that size. I special ordered a M20x2.5 and the thread pitch on the bolt ended up being smaller than that. I could not find anyone with the right size. Right now its at the dealer, they think they have one (its actually a good dealer . . . one of the few in South Florida, they have an s2k mechanic).
That being said, where can I get a pipe plug that big in case the dealer ends up bring wrong? lol

This procedure is for the FILL HOLE.
Yes sir, 1/2" NPT. Absolute perfect size. In addition, the thread pitch is so close, it will allow the tap to self align in the original threads.
Allow trans to drain overnight. Introduce a large volume of continuous air through the drain hole. It will keep the aluminum chips blowning outwards of the fill hole during tapping.
Keep in mind pipe threads are tapered, and vary. Get a steel 1/2" pipe plug to have on hand before you start. Tap a little, continue checking with the pipe plug until the hole is just right.
