Transmission sticking while decelerating
Recently My my01 with 85k miles transmission started to stick in 6th/5th gear while decelerating and trying to downshift. It "seems" to be worse/happen more the lower the RPM and the higher the gear.
It will come out of the gate with some added pressure and doesn't grind, but it's obvious it's sticking. It happens prob 3/10 times and more so when the transmission is cold. If I blip the throttle/rev match, it'll come out with no problem/resistance which is how i've been driving the car.
About 10k miles ago my clutch master cylinder went out(pedal fell to the floor) and I replaced it. The Slave looked good(no leaks) so I kept it, but it's squeaking. This is my current suspected culprit. Going to re-grease it asap, and also adjust my clutch pedal engagement.
The fluid was replaced under 10k miles ago and going to asap.
Looking for input, been searching and really can't find anything similar. Really hoping it's not my transmission and trying to fix it before I do damage to it.

I would say do exactly what you've said you're already going to do.
Order of priority-wise I would say adjust the clutch pedal engagement and make sure it's good (and because it's so easy to do), change the fluid (especially if you run Honda MTF), and then regrease shifter.

Multiple issues. Squeak is something that need a dab of grease in the linkage. My guess on the shift issue is moisture in the shifter ((I note your in Florida). As previously noted I too would pull the shift lever and inspect for rust in the housing. I prefer the recommended Urea Hi-Temp by Honda but others have had success with part store Urea as well.

Last time I had this exact symptom with a customer it was a rusted spline.
In 12 years of working on this car, the amount of shifters I've needed to grease is zero. Not even my own car. And I'm in the Northeast.
100% of all cars with sticky shifting have always been cured by one or all of these:
-clutch rod adj to zero freeplay (read up and know exactly what you are doing before you do this)
-clutch fluid replacement
-rusted spline
-trans fluid (this only cured 10% or so) mine was one of them, tracking the car can do a number on the MTF

Thanks for the input Billman. I was going to shoot you a PM but didn't want to be intrusive.
I'm really hoping I don't have to drop the tranny.
