Transmission shot?
Hi guys/gals,
I have an 02 s2k.
Today I was unable to put it in reverse and periodically I cannot shift to first gear. I can shift to 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th fine.
With the engine off, I can shift to any gears.
A couple weeks ago, I noticed that the cluth pedal is super light - as in it required zero force to push it. So idk if this had anything related to this problem. Please help!

i had a problem like this with an older accord which was a manual and it turned out the clutch master cylinder was shot. in addition to flushin and replacing the fluid look inside the car at the clutch petal and see if the piston that it connects to coming from the firewall is leaking grease. if it is then your clutch master cylinder could be done.

I just went to check the clutch fluid. It is below the minimum mark. That can't be good right?
I do not know how to flush the clutch fluid. Is this something I can do in a parking lot? (I'm at work right now)
I have verified that there were no fluid inside the car by the clutch pedal. Still clean in the firewall area! Did not notice any fluid lingering in by the clutch fluid container either.

if you can't flush it now just fill it up and see if that helps.
generally if your pedal is really light it means that air got into the line so you would probably need to bleed it.

You flush it just like you do your brakes except you push the clutch pedal instead. Because there's not as much heat in the clutch system as there is in the brakes, you don't need to use as good a brake fluid.
I just did mine and you'll definitely need a way to raise the car, but other than that you can do it in the parking lot. If you don't have one of those pressure bleeders, a vacuum bleeder or a speed bleeder then you will need 2 people. One to pump and hold while another opens and closes the bleed valve on the slave cylinder.

Sorry to bring this back up but,...
I have not had a chance to flush the clutch fluid. However, I was able to fill the reservoir to the MAX with clutch fluid that was low before. I am now able to switch to all gears - even reverse and first although the clutch pedal still seems light up until I press it 50% of the way. I also discovered something weird while under the hood. There seems to be a red/black wire that is seemingly cut off coming from the firewall. The clutch fluid reservoir is also present in the picture and is located on the right. Please see this image here that I took. What can you make of it?
