i thought throwout bearing is when you step on the clutch so the clutch/tranny is disengaged and there is noise?

also have some drivetrain noise that sounds the like above video when in gear and driving also, and it goes away when i step on the clutch

Finaly, it seem to be a normal noise, simply avoid downshift....

It is a normal noise for a failing throwout release bearing.....
It is not an immediate problem though and you could probably just live with it until your next clutch changeout, then replace the throwout (release) bearing and enjoy the silence.

if it fails before that, will is mess anything up besides the clutch? dont want to risk the tranny too

its normal noise. I have this on my 99 ap1 which has had new clutch kit and throw out bearing installed just last year.

I have a all new clutch set-up from ACT and I still have the same sound. Don't be worried..

There's certainly a wealth of misinformation in this thread.

Because of the location of the transmission and the lack of sound deadening material, it's common to hear a slight whirring sound when stopped in neutral with the clutch engaged. As long as you can justify describing the sound as "a slight whirring" I wouldn't worry about it.

If you can describe the noise as a "ballsy rumble" you've got a problem.

what if i still can kind of make out a chattering noise when the car is in gear and driving (not just decel noise,but very faint on accel too) , mroe noticeable in 2nd/3rd since anything faster the road noise drowns it out,

It's the Throw-out. It shouldn't make noise, bu it can usually go a while before you must change it. If it gets louder, or squeals, you need to get it swapped ASAP. I would go ahead and do a clutch job while it's open if you have some miles on your car.

No slight whirring in my car in neutral, stopped clutch out.....Just silence, clutch in or out, but then I do have a brand new release bearing installed.....YMMV
