Transmission in neutral, let off clutch, car rolls????

My Nissan XE-V6 4x4 pickup does this, I have also noticed it goes a bit farther when it is really cold out and the tranny oil is thicker.
My Nighthawk 650 motorcycle does this when it is up on the center stand, (well it does not roll, but the back tires goes around, you get the idea).

You guys go try this.. my car moves nowhere in neutral at any rpm. I can buy some wheel movement on jackstands (although I have never seen it), but I think something else is in play for for fluid or bearing friction to move 2800 pounds.

All three tranny's I had did/do it. On newer ones, or ones that are less pronounced you have to have an understanding of how to aggravate it.

Try it with a cold tranny, level ground, and before you engage the clutch after you start the motor, rev it up a bit, then engage the clutch quickly when in neutral.

I did, but nothing.. maybe because it was over 60F, or because I have fairly new lube. BTW, I am comfortable with a car that is not powered in neutral.

Before my first tranny went up, I noticed it was noisy and would drag a little like that. I had let the
wheels spin many a time while on stands, and they'll pick right up to 5mph or so, all the while in neutral.
pellisS2k: I had just remembered this, if you want to check out your syncros, then while idling and clutch
engaged, lightly push the shift lever into each gear. You will definitely notice the car trying to move forward.
See if you can notice one gear that does it more than others(keeping in mind the ratios, of course first is going to be more pronounced)
You dont have to press hard, but youll notice the harder you press the more the car will move.
Anyway I just have to say this, I keep thinking in the back of my mind that this type of drag - enough to move the car a foot or so (more than two inches) would be a resulting symptom of the oil pump problem
indicating early failure of the needle bearings
Dangit! Shatten!!! where are my video's!!!??? I sent the tranny oil pressure vid's to him to be hosted, now he wont talk to me
