Default Transmission in neutral, let off clutch, car rolls????

This is a bizarre problem, and I'd like to have some idea of what it might be before I take it by the dealer, so please theorize if you have any idea:

I park my car at night in my garage, handbrake off, in gear (1st or 2nd).
In the morning, I go to start the car: clutch in -> gearbox to neutral -> start button -> clutch out. more often than not, the car will roll ever so slightly forward when I let the clutch out (with the transmission in neutral!). Not very far forward, not a lurch, but a gentle 2 inches or so. I've never noticed this when the car has been sitting for less than 3 or 4 hours.

Any ideas?

Sounds to me like your clutch isn't disengaging completely. Its almost disengaged and that is why you move just a little bit.

That's my guess.

I've read about that somewhere, and there's a fix for it.....Now I just have to remember where I saw it. I'll get back to you.

My 2001 S2k does the same thing, but it only happens when the car is parked on a downhill facing surface. It's so minor and as it only happens only on a downhill surface that I've chosen to ignore it.
