I just had my oil and MTF changed. I made sure to let them know I wanted the new MTF with the white cap and green label and to save the bottles so I'd know that they used the right stuff.

I will say that even though the car was already warm the shifts were a lot smoother. Especially from 1-3rd. Also got a new battery out of it because they tested it and said it failed so they put a new one in for free since it was under its original warranty.

i have been using the new mtf from honda... i dont like it... down side to it.. when its cold its notchy ... you have to drive it about... 1 hour... to get the notch out...

the GM Synchromesh Transmission Fluid Friction Modified even when its cold its perfect... basiccally hot and cold its perfect...

i have tried both ... and so far gmsfm is the best by far...

I use Amsoil after using redline, GM, and honda. IMHO, better than them all.

Safe for brass syncros, and is an authorized direct replacement for Honda MTF.

Amsoil Synchromesh Manual Trans Fluid. Real nice. It doesn't like the cold though. It makes me take it easy until it's fully warmed up. But once it's warm, it's the best I've tried. And It lasts, it doesn't fall off in performance like the GM Fluid does after a period of time .

Honda reformulated their MTF fluid recently. Couple threads floating around about it. I have switched to it and as others have stated, you get better cold shifting and less notchiness. I am not talking like "holy crap I cant believe this stuff" but compared to the previous stuff, it feels better. I should also state that I change my tranny fluid more on the frequent side. If you havent changed yours in 30k, the improvement may be more noticeable. I will probably try the GM stuff next time around just for the sake of being able to compare the two.
Ah, makes sense, I voted for the new stuff then. I've been running it for about a month now. I'm also a frequent transmission fluid changer.
