Has anyone used Gunk's motor flush before changing oil yourself in your high mileage motors, or have added Sea Foam to your oil afterwards at any time regardless of mileage? The marketing sounds good on the packaging. Please advise.

Here is what I do to my GST,S2K & Z06.

Engine Oil & Filter=5k Amsoil 0w30 & Wix
Clutch & Brake fluid=5k Prestone Dot 4
Clean Air Filter=5k K&N
Coolant=2 Years Prestone 50/50
Man Trans=Every Spring/10k)Amsoil MTF
Diff=Every Spring/10k Amsoil SG 75-110

IMO...Fluid is cheap.Hard parts are not.

Based upon tests I have seen I change no more often than 10-15K miles... After initial break-in wear there is little contamination or lube break down.

Change your MTF whenever you feel like it.
I agree with this. MTF/MTL is the most subjective lube change there is on this car. It will give you very good feedback for when it has sheared too much and just doesn't shift as well as it used to. All the other fluids shear too, you just don't get the same kind of feedback as the transmission gives you.

This is definitely the best way to go. Some owners report the Honda MTF2 getting notchy after 7k miles or more, if that starts to happen it's a good sign that it has sheared down like IndyMac has stated. It might happen at different intervals on different cars depending on driving conditions and climate conditions.

I keep it simple and I just dump the fluid once a year regardless of miles, it's cheap and easy maintenance IMO.
