Default Transmission Fluid Change Interval

Quick question:

How often should I change Manual Transmission Fluid? I always had the dealer do it before.

Manual says 30k, but I say 10k - do you track your car or drive it harder than normal?

Hmm, maybe I'm thinking of the diff fluid? Either way, I'd change it every 10k. I like GM Syncromesh FM.

Change your MTF whenever you feel like it.

Every 5000 miles or when 2nd gear shift change gets notchy!
Be aware that there is a new Honda MTF which says on bottle " New and improved or advanced formula or something like that ". That is the one to use cause I changed mine a month ago at 5500 miles and the smoothness of shifts is now amazing.

I drive it rather conservatively. I probably do a tranny and diff change at 5000 miles, and then change it every 10K-15K.

Sounds good. Doing both at the same ime will take you an hour or so.
