If I remember correctly, Xviper posted a poceedure on this that had the owner filling the transmission while the car was lifted from one side. Once the tranny if full, lower it back down to level and let the excess oil run out of the fill hole. Once is through dripping, pick the car back up and reinstall the fill plug, then clean up the mess.

It sounds reasonable to me and probably what I'll do as my car just passed 10k miles and I'm considering changing the tranny and diff fluids shortly.
