Has anyone done this hack? I think I would have to split the middle wire to each of the two buttons. The stock setup has 3 wires going to the two buttons. Can this transfer be accomplished? TIA.

i don't think its that simple. The stock steering wheel controller has a little chip board circuit, its not just a simple momentary or on/off switch. the aftermarlet buttons are just momentary. you can still get the wiring to the buttons with the reel with my aftermarket hub(HBK)

Thanks! I checked wiring diagrams and the switch itself. Pressing a button completes a circuit and letting it go opens it again. Each button shares a third wire (ground or power). I am hoping the steering wheel button will act the same way, that it will complete a circuit as long as pressed and open the circuit when released.

I have readied wiring by "y"ing off the third wire and ready to attach to buttons.

The stock cc buttons are momentary with the circuit board allowing use of a lead shared by the two switches. I was able to transfer the cc to two steering wheel mounted buttons, since I wanted to go to Momo steering wheel. The steering wheel buttons are also momentary and not on/off switches. Works great!
