Default Trans chatter?

I just bought my '00 over a week ago and everything is great although i cant ignore this buzzing coming from the trans between 3-5k rpms. It is more agressive on deceleration when i am in gear and off the gas. I am assuming this is due to more stress going through the trans.
The car has only 7000 miles on it so i dont imagine it bieng anything too serious. If anyone is familiar with this or can help please let me know. Thanks

You have the typical and very common clutch "buzz". Honda has a Tech Service Bulletin out for this where they changed out the clutch disc to a newer model. This was never a guaranty that the buzz wouldn't come back, as it did in most cases after the job was done. Your car may no longer qualify for this TSB but ask anyway. It's just noise and in no way affects the function of the clutch.
You might find threads about this with a search to tell you what it's all about.

I suppose it can get very loud, although with my exhaust, I can't generally hear it well. With mine, it got about as bad as it could get after a couple of years and since then, it's not gotten any louder. Conceiveably, they could get that loud and would be cause for alarm. After all, it's those springs that are vibrating to make the noise. The louder it gets, the more and harder they vibrate. In time, it's possibly (though remote) that such a harsh vibration could result in metal fatigue and you could break a spring. What happens after that, I can't say for sure. It's never happened to me.
How is your clutch in terms of wear and slippage? If it's due for a replacement in the next year or so I'm sure it could wait, unless it really drives you nuts.
