how does the exedy carbon clutch compare to the hypersingle?
Is it easier/more difficult to drive than the normal clutch?

can you hear the noise at idle?

it's amazing. there aint no lazy shifting on this clutch. there is a little bit of noise at idle but nothing loud at all. it does make the trans louder (thats why i started this thread), but you just have to deal with it. break in period is about 1500 miles. i just got past that and it's finally not shuttering when ilet it out. you really have to watch especially downshifting from 3rd to 2nd and make sure the revs are high enough or you'll hear it shutter when it goes in. can only say good things about this clutch!!

can you ride the clutch at all or is it hardcore racing on/off clutch? Is it easy to reverse?
is the flywheel carbon fiber or carbon fiber coated or is is metal?
have you got any pics?

I drove a car with a set of carbon fiber brake the other day. The carbon on carbon contact is so smooth and "silent" on braking. It had awesome braking capability as well. I would imagine that this carbon clutch will be better than the conventional clutch in term of grip and noise. I did not realise it will cause more noise.

It's also odd that you get noise at idle. Is it a rattling noise? Is it better or worse when you press the clutch in?

also forgot to tell you www.coximport.com is a good place too. Robert the salesman for Cox used to be a national sales rep for Daikin/Exedy. very good guy call him with any questions about the exedy product. he knows all about them.

I noticed that they just released twin plate clutch for honda. I tried to search whether this is avalaible for the s2k but could not find anything more. Do you know if there is an exdey twin plates clutch for the s2k?

it looks like the twin plate is for b series motors only. the hyper carbon's have single and triple plate. that triple plate is probably freakin nuts. I know my single is so 3 plates will be shit nuts. unless your going to be going over the top with your car you'll probably just need a single. hope this helps dude!

I don't know about carbon clutch but I've been told they are instant on/off type. So tripple carbon clutch will probably be real crazy.

I've driven twin metal plates clutch and contrary to false believes, the twin is easier to drive on the street than single once installed and bedded in properly. I am just looking for an alternative solution to my hypersingle exedy just in case it fails with higher boost/abuse. Thanks Dan

i was happy with my hyper single but i fried it quick, with help from my leaking master cylinder. this hyper carbon is really grabbing now that its pretty much done bedding in. it seems from what i've reading that this clutch will last a while and can really take some abuse. i'm hoping that's the case. i didn't spend the money for nothing. let me know if you have any more questions about it.
