It's the fork. The service manual is wrong. We've seen this a hundred times and all of us telling you to pull the fork out are right on, particularly the part about where you say you can get it a good inch apart and then it seems stuck.

You're going to have to push the trans back to the engine, then the fork will be so loose and have room that you can rotate it around and pull it completely out.

I pulled my trans off yesterday. It is impossible to get the clutch fork out with the engine and trans together.

Op: it does take some muscle to get them completely apart. If you're sure you got everything then keep pulling, make sure the shift lever isn't hitting on anything.

Mine wouldn't. Maybe i just didn't waste enough time trying to get it out. There's no need to really.

All good. If you do it enough it just comes right out in one motion. I try to have as much out of the way as possible when pulling the transmission.

I have a question here. I replace my clutch disk (TSB054 buzzing noise) about 4 years ago. I remember that the fork did come out of its mounting place, but are you guys saying you can take the fork out of the transmission and put it on the workbench while the transmission is still attached to the engine? I don't remember it being that way, but I did it once 4 years ago...

This may be a stupid question to ask you but are you certain your not hitting the bellhousing on the trans tunnel? In other words are you low enough to come back? I would think so if you were able to remove the top bolts... If its coming out then theres no bolts left in it assuming you didnt leave anything loose.

Could try gently prying with with a wooden or plastic object to insure you dont mark up the housing. If you can find 2 triangular pieces of wood you can hammer them in opposite sides and see how that works.

Is the trans being supported by a trans jack? It needs to slide out evenly or it may get hung up on the input shaft.
