That 80w90 fluid from Honda is GL5 as confirmed from the dealer. Looks like Vancouver Honda knows more about the S than the other dealer.
This website seems to doubly confirm that ca66928 is legitimate, proper diff lube.

That, of course, is the Honda motorcycle division fluid that Honda car division recommended in that memo. My previous statement still stands. Honda car division has no in-house diff fluid for the S2000. That dealer got it from their motorcycle parts distributor.

Here is that Canadian memo:

Right - not arguing with you. Just thought a product offering with picture would be of interest.
And I'm not slamming you for doing it. It was actually a good post to show the link. I just wanted to re-inforce my earlier post in case people thought I was nuts.

I changed my diff/trans fluid 1 month ago , they put that Honda 80W90 (gl-3/4/5) , the service guy says for the warranty better use what Honda recommend , and Honda MTF for the trans .

Since they changed fluids i hear strange noise coming from middle/end of my car .

So carefull whit Honda OEM product...not sure they know whats best for our car. Gotta meet the Honda mechanic monday , i ll tell you if something wrong whit the diff.

Bye.

Oh forgot to tell at 48 000km (2 years ago) in a different Honda dealer they put syntectic Pennzoil 75W90 gl-5 and it was very fine.
