Tranny / Diff fluid change
I went ahead and changed the fluid out on my MY 00 with 6,000 miles.
I put LE 607 Almasol in the diff. I was only able to get 7/8ths of the quart in. It never really ran out of the diff fill hole when I lowered it, but I also couldn't get anymore out of the quart container and into the diff. Think it's Ok? I would think so as 7/8th's is what is calls for, basically.
On the tranny fluid, I'm draining it over night. Can I use the same funnel system as I used for the diff fluid? I cleaned it with simple green and ran water through it for a while and wil let it dry over night. However, I'm not sure how the LE607 will interact with the GM synchromesh friction modified fluid----thoughts on that? Or, should I just buy a new pipe/funnel kit?
Finally, I installed the Injen CAI, too. Not at all impressed with the tubing they give you in the kit. I'll be buying differet tubing from Napa in the morning. The installation was rather straight forward thanks to some of you
Let me know on the mixing of fluids in that piping and the fact the diff fluid never really ran out of the fill hole, but I still got 7/8th's of the quart in.
Thanks!

7/8 th's of a a quart is fine for the diff, but I'm not exactly sure how well oils of different formulations mix. If your concerned, play it safe and buy/build a new funnel system/set dedicated for filling the trans

You do not want to mix GL-4 and GL-5 fluids, the GL-5 eats away at yellow metals (our synchros). I'm going to say you're fine using the same funnel though since you cleaned it with Simple Green and water.

I did put the correct fluid in the Diff, didn't I----LE 607 Almasol
The syncromesh is designed for the tranny since it's GL4; correct?
I'm going to buy a new plastic tube just to be on the safe side
Thanks!
