Default Tranny Damage?

Hi, all,

Toady, my car was parked with the reverse gear engaged. Minutes laters, it was hit from behind and the car lurched forward.

How do I check whether there is a damage to the tranny?

Thanks.

You would check it by driving it, but I doubt it would hurt your tranny. The force on your tranny would not be any greater than the force it takes to break the tires loose during a "launch". It could have also turned your engine backwards, or caused you clutch to slip. If anything is damaged, I doubt it would be the tranny.

Like the others- sorry to hear about it, but there is pretty much no chance of engine damage, even after having spun the engine around backwards.
