I'm still really happy with it. Since it still feels so smooth, I didn't even change it when I did my last engine and diff oil change. I also did another track weekend, and it was great.

I have used the Royal Purple oil for 10,000 miles with no apparent degradation of shift quality and never a grind. It too gets a little notchy in 20 degree weather but nowhere near as bad as the stock stuff.

I had decided to try the Amsoil when I changed again just to see.

I have heard good stuff about the GM Synchromesh on other lists, but they preferred the Royal Purple so that is what I tried.

Now I am hearing good stuff about the RP and the Amsoil and the Synchromesh has dropped from the radar. Is it out of vogue or is it just that people have had time to compare it to the RP and Amsoil and found them superior. I don't know, but I am going to change to Amsoil very soon.

The comment about the watery Neo may change my mind about which Amsoil as the newer model is much watery in the bottle than their old formulation. I was thinking thinner might work better in the cold.

The AC Delco website it says for use in 1500 trannies, so I'm almost positive it's the same stuff since that's what the GM synchromesh FM is recommended for. The AC Delco part # also matched the GM part #.

Just picked up 2 quarts of GM Synchromesh Friction Modified.

Be putting it in soon for a streets of willow event. I'll let you know how it goes.

Was funny when I got to the Chevy dealer to get it there was a guy in line in front of me who got 2 quarts of the same thing. I'm like uh-oh, hope that's not the last of it.

Turns out Visco got there minutes before me and had set 2 quarts aside too. I think we confuse the parts guy as we both set some aside. Visco told me that they only had 4 when he called. The parts guy had 2 more for me.

Funny going to a chevy dealer parts department and meeting an s2000 owner you've never met before, small world.

Very nice to meet you Visco, that was fun.
