- gernby is probably sick of hearing this, but the GMS FM was developed for the NV1500 light truck tranny used in S-10's or whatever they are called days (Colorado? Sahara? Hoboken?). Kind of paradoxical that it finds a home in a precision scalpel like the S2000.

I'm in about to change the gear oil on my S, it a S from the states up in penselvania. Now it's in the caribean. Never gets colder then 25C at night, think that is around 80 F or so. What oil should I get to put in my tranny? The GM, redline or the honda? Cuase the honda I need to order, redline I think too, maybe the gm they have here but I doubt it.

I replaced my Honda MTF this weekend. After approx. 6,000 mi. the oem fluid looked very good, nice amber color, with no crude on drain plug. Replaced with Redline MTL and shifting (after 100 mi.) feels just like it did before the fluid change. But at least I have a good 100% high quality syn oil in the tranny. My plan is to change fluid yearly.

The MT-90 is giving me relatively high operating temperatures for this early in the summer. I notice that during traffic, I see indicated peak temperatures north of 240 degrees on my transmission temp gauge. This has lead to grinding. Note: the fluid was changed ~700 miles ago with no event driving on it. I am changing over to the GM synchromesh FM.
I just wanted to verify that the GM part number is #12377916.
